Food and Football
I'm starting to get itchy feet now, I have done 6 weeks of work and have about 2 weeks left (although if asked I will stay for another couple of weeks in order to save a bit more money) but I feel I need to move on soon. Nice as Perth is I've done it now and need to explore again.
I suppose the one thing I will miss is this hostel, there are a good bunch of people here and I've managed to get out and about with a few of them. Three of us lads take it in turns to cook once a week, which has been a steep learning curve for me but I can now make an awesome chilli, we also tried kangaroo burger the other night which tasted like, well, a beef burger to be honest. I've also started 'Burrito Sunday', where a few of us go to a great mexican restaurant in Northbridge and get a burrito (it helps cure the hangover).
Other weekend adventures have included a trip to 'Bounce' which is an old warehouse which has been converted into a massive indoor trampoline area, with padding on the walls etc etc. It was great fun, however I'm feeling my age a bit, the youngsters were jumping all over the place and left with smiles and good memories..... I left with a bad back (it still hurts today) and a twisted angle.
I have also been to my first game of Australian Rules Football, the woman who sits next to me at work had a spare ticket (her nephew couldn't make it), it was the 'West Coast Eagles' playing 'St Kilda'. We were supporting the Eagles, who won. I'm not too impressed with Aussie rules football though, it's a mix between rugby and American football - bit of a mess and most of the game consists of just kicking to ball forward and hoping your guy catches it before the other guy does.
No plans for this weekend, apart from drinking goon on Friday night - roll on Easter and 4 days off!
