Rottnest Island

Had a quiet couple of weeks.  Just been working Monday to Friday, which is going very well so far - to be honest I haven't been given much work to do really, I wait for things to go wrong, then fix them.

Last weekend I went to Kings Park for a BBQ (again), and had a wonder round.

This weekend I went to Rottnest Island with one other lad from the Hostel.  It cost about $120(£65), that included the 45 minute ferry across from Fremantle, bike hire and also snorkelling gear.  The island is quite small, about 6 miles across and is known for its nice beaches and quokkas.  Quokkas are these animals that look like a cross between a rat and a kangaroo, they are everywhere and are not scared of people at all, in fact they come right up to you.

Also despite my fear of sharks/jellyfish/sea snakes/stonefish I went snorkelling while on the island.  I can report that apart from consuming far too much salt water while working out how a snorkel works, all went smoothly and I saw quite a few fish (pictures below).
